This mosque was built in 1562 by Sher Shah Suri— one of the rulers who built Delhi’s prominence in India’s history. Other famous monuments include Humayun’s Tomb, Red Fort and Lotus Temple— all from his time as emperor. There are also several museums that focus on Indian culture and history, such as The Victoria Memorial Museum, National Rail Museum and Chandni Chowk Museum.
